Chilliwack, BC – The Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation (CEPCO) and Lustre Products are pleased to announce construction of a new industrial facility in the city of Chilliwack.

Winner of the ‘Manufacturing’ award at the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards this past January, Lustre Products is locally owned and operated and has been manufacturing high quality components for the elevator and escalator industry for over 25 years. They currently export these innovative products throughout North America and the world from their facility in Yarrow.

Over the past two years, Lustre Products has experienced significant sales growth and an ever expanding product mix. This is good news for any business, but it has increased pressure on the company as they try to manage this growth in their current location.

In response to this business growth, Lustre Products realized in late 2015 that they needed to expand into a new location. This started a comprehensive site selection process throughout the Fraser Valley.

Lustre Products is pleased to confirm that they will remain in Chilliwack in a new 60,000 square foot state of the art manufacturing facility to be built on 3.25 acres at 43650 Progress Way in Highway #1 Business Park. Lustre Products has retained the services of CHP Architects as the project architect and RAM Construction was recently selected as construction manager. It is expected that the construction process and business relocation will be completed in late 2017.

“The support and advice we have received from CEPCO during this important time for our company has been very valuable,” said Troy Cooper, Vice President. “This support combined with the business friendly approach at the City of Chilliwack was instrumental in our decision to invest in a new facility in Chilliwack.”

“Another major factor for Lustre Products expansion in Chilliwack is the quality and commitment of our local employees”, stated Dean Cooper, President. “We currently employ 40 people and expect to see that number grow towards 60 once our new facility is fully operational.”

“The importance of local businesses and the employment opportunities associated with their growth and expansion is a major priority for CEPCO’s economic development efforts,” said Brian Coombes, CEPCO President. “We are very pleased that Lustre Products will remain a valued employer and contributor in our local business community,” added Coombes.
